I am entering my tenth year since my “Awakening”. In August of 2010, I had a spiritually transformative experience that was intricately tied to my brother’s near death. During this time, I left my body on and off for three days. Here are a few insights I was shown in my glimpse of the “Other Side”.

Insights from my glimpse on the “Other Side”:

1.) Miracles happen when we are able to completely surrender with all of our heart and leave our prayers in the hands of higher spiritual forces. It is a weird thing to be faced with death. I knew, for the first time in my life I had no control over a situation. I simply dropped to my knees and told God if my brother was to die, that I just wanted him to feel all my love. I meditated for hours with my heart extended to his (my brothers). I had no idea this would open me up, to what was to come. Love is powerful. Love is miraculous. And so is surrender.

2.)When you die your soul physically detaches and leaves your body. Your soul’s consciousness is still completely there, you just are free from having a body or vessel. It was the most insanely liberating feeling. I could go anywhere with my mind and heart. Although states apart, I traveled to my brothers hospital room and held his hand. I went through tunnels, different realms of existence, floated in the clouds, and I kept ascending higher and higher as I experienced more. Interestingly enough, you can do this when you are alive as well.

3.) On the other side there is no concept of time. What felt like a minute had actually been hours and turned into days. I was just living with no schedule. I was exploring and learning and following my heart. It was truly relieving not to have a clock. It gave me a whole new spin on eternity which used to make my palms sweat in church as a kid. The next insight also helped with this anxiety.

4.) There is a realm of existence where all of the information of your past lives is kept. I saw at least 7 of mine. I felt and experienced pain from them that I had carried forward into this life. I was able to heal aspects of those lives and carry that knowledge forward into this one. So yes I’m saying your soul reincarnates many many times.

5.) Your senses expand beyond your wildest imagination. As I traveled through tunnels, the colors were so brilliant. I saw color in a way I had never seen color. Emotions were felt deeply and were refreshingly unfiltered. I got a chance to “speak” with my grandmother Rosie and my nephew Zyler who had passed over. This was not done through words from the mouth but all in the mind, telepathically.

6.) So you do get the chance to reunite with souls who you knew in this lifetime. And they do know what is going on in your current life because….

7. ) We are all connected. This is something I got the privilege of feeling and words do a poor job translating. You are never separate from your family members who are deceased, your worst enemy, your animals, anyone you love or hate, the tree across the street, and even the most divine beings. On the other side you feel the oneness.

8.) Love and following what is in your heart are the most important things in life on either side.
