Dream Work
In March, the amount of dreams I had increased dramatically. Maybe a little of that Piscesan energy magnified things.?! Anyone else?? Generally though when I really start to dream I take it one of two ways.
The first thing I think of, is that my spirit guides are really trying to communicate with me what I need to be working on. This is not scientific information but my own opinion (after years of working with spirit). In order for spirit to come through we have to be in a relaxed and open space. You dream during the REM stage of sleep. In that stage your brain is still highly active so you can receive input but you are sleeping so your ego is not involved. It’s the perfect concoction for receiving info from your loved ones or spirit team.
The second thing I think, is that our subconscious thoughts, feelings, and ideas are coming into some form of consciousness during our dream state. Again ego is pushed aside so it is a space that feels easier to explore some of our darker or wounded aspects. A peak into the world you shove aside!
This is fertile grounds for growth if we want to look deeper into it and it’s called Dream Work!!
Here are some tips for anyone wanting to dive deeper into this practice…
- Intention is everything! If you want to explore something deeper or want guidance….ask for it! Set an intention before falling asleep.
- Keep a journal near. Just like when I channel, info comes in and out fast and if not written down, it will be lost. You will forget. Before you do anything, write it down!!!
- Dreams can get wild. Although that may take more deciphering it doesn’t mean that it’s just useless information. If your dream is all over maybe that’s how you feel in real life as well and you need to adopt some grounding practices.
- Furthermore, if you can’t grasp the meaning write down images you saw that stood out to you. For example, say I saw a yellow cat I couldn’t keep my eyes off. If I saw a yellow cat I would take that as a message to trust my gut and intuition. I would come to this conclusion because of the symbolism behind each. There are a ton of dream books that help you decipher symbolism in dreams. But nowdays it’s all on the internet. So you could literally google the color yellow and you could look up “what does a cat symbolize?”. If you do want a dream book specifically, I can list a few below.
- There are a few stones that assist with dream work. Amethyst, Tiger’s Eye, Hematite, Mookaite Jasper, Obsidian, Sodalite, Lapiz all come to mind. You can either put a sphere/standing slab by your bedside or smaller ones in your pillow. Here are a few I have in stock in my shop. https://www.nicholeolsen.com/product/mookaite-jasper/ https://www.nicholeolsen.com/product/mahogany-obsidian-cube/ https://www.nicholeolsen.com/product/gorgeous-hematite-sphere-from-italy-large/ https://www.nicholeolsen.com/product/australian-mookaite-jasper-sphere-large/ https://www.nicholeolsen.com/product/sodalite-sphere-large-from-india/
- Mugwort is a great before bed tea to enhance dreams (good dreams or bad) Here is a link to one of my favorites https://amzn.to/3yYVecS
