Using and Infusing Spiritual Tools with Positive Thoughts
A few years ago, I went to a class about using mala’s. The instructor told me I was holding it incorrectly, like my prayers wouldn’t be heard because my thumb was in the wrong position. All I could think was “that’s bull”. Meet the rebellion in me: my favorite quality about myself, my least favorite in my daughter (haha). Anyways, my point is this, the spirit world could care less about all the rules or doing things perfect. It is far more important to come from your heart (not your head) and let your intentions be known. Also I can’t leave out the importance of daily practice. So with that in mind, here are my “keep it simple” guidelines for using and infusing spiritual tools with positive thoughts, to keep your vibes high throughout the day.
1.) Pick an item for the day that you would like to infuse.
Honestly there are so many different “tools” you can use. Today I will be talking about two of my favorites that I use interchangeably which are my rosary and my mala.

Pictured above are my beauties. My rosary is very special in itself. It was given to me by my grandmother and grandfather who have passed. I feel a deep connection to it as well as the ancestral wisdom it brings. My mala is gorgeous and I have loved bringing it into my meditation practice. If you do not have any of these tools, I have a few rosaries and mala’s that I checked out and am loving that I will share below.

2.) Choose your positive thought!
Thoughts are one of the most powerful ways that we can change our life. They hold their own unique vibrations. We can choose healthy uplifting thoughts or we can get drowned down by negative thoughts. What is it that you are needing to hear? Or what is it that you need in your life? This is your personal way to call out to the universe for assistance. I suggest choosing one or two sentences as we will be repeating it. For example, I have been using: “May spirit guide me.”, or “I am love. I act compassionately.” or “This too shall pass.”. You can change it up day to day or keep the same for several days, a week, or even a month in a row.
3.) Infuse your positive thought into your tool!
The third step is touching each bead while repeating the positive affirmation that you are using. You repeat (either silently or out loud) this same statement until you have gone through every bead on the necklace or maybe you do it twice. I’m a firm believer in making your own rules. Usually after I am done, I sit quietly just to feel the energy that is being held in those beads and I imagine it meshing with my being.
4.) Carry that energy into your day!
Last step is wearing the vibration you have just created!! Again thoughts carry a lot of energy! You have set yourself up for the day by doing this practice. When life happens (because it will), look at whatever you have chosen to wear that is infused, reconnect with the energy you created, take a few breaths, and get back on track with the intention you set for the day. No one can make your life better except yourself. Be empowered!! Practice.
Throughout April, I will be doing a prayer/meditation challenge. Please feel free to join. Updates will be in next week’s blog post. If you have a hard time sitting still, I highly suggest you incorporate this technique during “silent” time.
Gratitude,
Nichole Olsen
